SENIOR ACCOUNTANT - FL

Job Description:

Located in Tampa, Florida, VTE is the nation’s premier truck & equipment dealer network. VTE and our dealer network are leading suppliers of solutions for the vocational truck and equipment needs of municipal, private, and public companies. We are looking to hire an experienced Senior Accountant to our growing team. This individual will be responsible for:

  • VTE Corporate level accounting and consolidation.
  • VTE management company-level accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger management, and bank reconciliations.

Tasks:

  • Report to the Controller of VTE.
  • Karmak system leader – maintain and improve system level controls. Identify and implement best practices and enhancements. Serve as enterprise resource for all Karmak related items. Train location level accounting staff.
  • Responsible for producing timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and other related reports, analyses, and projections.
  • Perform month-end close process – this includes standardizing processes, performing account reconciliations and calculating accruals and prepaids.
  • Prepare and maintain daily cash flow and cash flow reports – forecast cash needs at weekly intervals.
  • Maintain and analyze budgets, preparing periodic reports that compare budgeted costs to actual costs.
  • Assess, execute, and streamline policies within the scope of financial operations.
  • Assist with collections as needed. Monitor working capital and line of credit utilization.
  • Analyze business operations, trends, costs and revenues, to project future activity and identify weaknesses and opportunities.
  • Assist with the implementation of software upgrades, Avalara sales tax as well as exemption certificate management.
  • Vendor maintenance and identification of 1099 vendors.
  • Maintain a professional work atmosphere by performing and communicating in a manner that promotes good relationships with customers, clients, co-workers, and management.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Knowledge of sales practices and the most efficient customer service techniques. Ability to interpret sales metrics.
  • Ability to pay strong attention to detail and manage multiple tasks with urgency.

Education & Experience:

Overall

  • Previous work-related experience.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
  • Expert knowledge of Karmak

DIESEL TECHNICIAN - FL, AZ, MA, NY

Job Summary:

  • Works on automatic and standard transmissions, all types of diesel engines, single and dual drive steering suspensions, and systems.
  • Performs PMI’s, hydraulic and air brake adjustments and repairs, diagnoses drive trains.
  • Works in all areas of electrical diagnostics and repairs, including but not limited to, complex and standard lighting systems.
  • Diagnose and repair power beyond systems.
  • Diagnose and repair multi-functioning hydraulic systems with electric and air functions.
  • Operates the equipment in a safe manner & reports hazards associated with the equipment or its operations to the Safety Director.
  • Maintains/produces a level of output that will minimize production delays.
  • Cleans & maintains an orderly work area.
  • Assists other individuals when needed.

Preferred Education & Experience:

  • CDL (Class B with air brakes). ASE certifications (T1-T7).
  • Must have the ability to read and understand electrical and hydraulic schematics.
  • Welding and fabricating experience is a plus.
  • Good communication skills relative to supervisor & other related departments.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds, plus the physical ability to work in awkward positions such as kneeling, lying down, and overhead. Must have the ability to climb and work from a ladder.
  • Ability to operate various shop tools.
  • Must have own tools of the trade, a valid driver’s license & transportation.
  • Requires a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent plus vocational training or job-related course work.

TRUCK CONSULTANT SPECIALIST - FL

Job Title: Truck Consultant Specialist

Job Summary:

As a Truck Consultant Specialist, you will leverage your deep understanding of vocational trucks, including garbage trucks, roll-offs, sweeper trucks, and similar vehicles, to provide expert sales consultation to our clients. Your role involves a blend of technical knowledge and sales acumen, ensuring our clients receive the best advice and solutions for their specific needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert advice on a range of vocational trucks, focusing on their functionality, specifications, and suitability for various tasks.
  • Understand and explain truck, body, and equipment options that best suit the needs of municipal, private, or public entities.
  • Conduct demonstrations of truck functions and features, highlighting their advantages for specific customer requirements.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, understanding their unique needs and providing tailored solutions.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends, truck models, and technological advancements in vocational vehicles.
  • Collaborate with the technical team to gain a deep understanding of each truck’s capabilities and limitations.
  • Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction through excellent sales service.

Preferred Education & Experience:

  • Experience in a role involving vocational trucks or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of truck and bodies and their functionality.
  • Ability to read and understand technical schematics is a plus.
  • Sales experience, especially in automotive or heavy machinery, is preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license, with CDL (Class B with air brakes) being an advantage.
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent; additional qualifications in sales or marketing are a plus.
